Chris Collingwood

Chris studied at Berkshire College of Art from 1966 – 1970, and after an early career in animation, eventually found his way into book jacket design. Today many of the books on the shelves of our leading bookshops are full of his work.

Chris has produced a wealth of impressive paintings from the Napoleonic War. American Civil War, English Civil War, and a variety of Portraits of Great Military Leaders. Many of his best-known popular pieces are in the world famous Jorvik Viking Centre in York, where his paintings form the centre of the exhibition.
