OF GOD AND MAN
by Rick Herter
Brand new from Rick Herter featuring the Lockheed Martin F-35.
The sun is low on the horizon. The fading light of day reflects off the glorious rock formations of the Grand Canyon. Flying into the scene are the sleek lines of an Air Force F-35 Lighting II. Inarguably, one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders, in concert with one of mankind’s most technical of creations.
Rick Herter’s spectacular painting features a Lockheed F-35 Lightning II of the USAF 56th Fighter Wing. Located at Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix, the 56th is the worldwide training wing for all F-35 pilots. It also holds the distinction of the largest Fighter Wing in the United States Air Force.
The Lighting II is a supersonic, single seat, multi-role combat aircraft. The unique design and construction material of the aircraft gives it stealth capabilities. The various sensors enable the fighter to gather intelligence through electronic warfare surveillance and reconnaissance. Versions of the F-35 are flown by the USAF, US Navy and US Marine Corps, as well as many allied nations around the world.
