THE LAST WAVE - Framed Collector's Piece
by Chris French
- OPERATION JERICHO -
In one of the most daring low-level operations of the war, Flight Lieutenant Tom McPhee keeps tight formation behind Squadron Leader Ian McRitchie as their two Mosquito FB Mk.VIs of 464 Squadron RAAF deliver the last of four bombing runs on the prison at Amiens, Northern France, shortly after midday on 18 February 1944.
Using the formidable skills acquired over 30 years as one of the country’s highly-respected aviation artists, Chris French gives us a dramatic navigator’s view as the final pair of Mosquitos race towards the snow-clad target.
