PRIDE OF OUR NATION - Framed Collector's Piece
by Matt Hall
June 6, 1944, above occupied France... With church bells ringing, paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions descend in and around towns such as Sainte-Mère-Église.
A short time prior, these young men were students, farm hands, shop assistants and factory workers. Now, they will fight for their lives and more—to liberate the oppressed. Soon, across the Atlantic, President Roosevelt will go on the radio and lead the country in a prayer for their safety. He will speak for every citizen and bestow a new title on the young warriors of D-Day. He will call them the “pride of our nation.”
This VICTORY EDITION print has been mounted to full conservation standards to include a fragment of original parachute silk as used by the men of the 101st and two replica museum quality airborne division shoulder patches, as well as being personally autographed by EIGHT Band of Brothers veterans!
