SCRAMBLE! - Original Pencil Drawing
by Richard Taylor
Spitfire Mk.I’s from No.602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron scramble from their airfield at RAF Westhampnett, West Sussex, during the height of the Battle of Britain in August 1940.
"Never, in the field of human conflict, was so much owed by so many to so few."
Richard's detailed study pays tribute to Churchll's brave "few" who so boldly and defiantly put their lives on the line to defend Britain during that long summer.
Not only has this archival paper been personally autographed by a staggeringly impressive line-up of Battle of Britain pilots and aircrew collected over the years, to make piece even more special, our expert in-house team have matted and framed Richard's drawing, to full conservation standards, to include the RARE original autograph of Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding who, as Commander-in-Chief of RAF Fighter Command during the battle, oversaw the defence of Britain. A stunning and completely unique TWELVE signature collection!
