VE DAY 80TH ANNIVERSARY POSTER
by Pascal Girard
Victory in Europe (VE) Day, celebrated on 8 May 1945, marked the formal acceptance of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender by the Allied forces, effectively ending World War II in Europe. It was a moment of immense relief and joy after nearly six years of devastating conflict that claimed millions of lives. Across the Allied nations, people took to the streets in jubilant celebrations, while leaders like Winston Churchill addressed their citizens with messages of hope and gratitude.
Created in honour of VE Day's 80th anniversary in 2025, this commemorative poster acknowledges a defining moment in history, celebrating the solidarity and sacrifices that paved the way to victory.
