ATTACKING THE SORPE - OPERATION CHASTISE
Anthony Saunders’ dramatic piece takes us to the heart of the action as the crew of Lancaster AJ-T ‘Tommy’ carry out their attack on the Sorpe Dam. It’s a composition that Bomb Aimer George ‘Johnny’ Johnson directly helped Anthony create and later described as the most authentic representation he’d ever seen.
Each print has been personally signed by Johnny and it was his personal request for the edition to be published posthumously to commemorate the actions that night and also to benefit 617 Squadron with whom he served.
Accompanying every print is a letter also signed by Johnny outlining his wishes.
