After a brief respite in the freezing weather and with the recent snow beginning to thaw, the B-17 Fortresses of the 100th Bomb Group at Thorpe Abbotts, Norfolk prepare to carry out the Eighth Air Force’s latest mission to Germany, during the harsh winter of early 1945.
Honoring all those who served with the 8th AF, this memorable print has been personally signed by no less than TEN highly-regarded veterans who flew B-17s with the 100th BG as the Allies pushed for victory in Europe.
To make it even more special, our expert framing team have included an 8th AF patch and the original autographs of some of the most famous B-17 veterans to serve during WWII including a recipient of the Medal of Honor:
- Col ROBERT MORGAN - Captain and Pilot of the famous Memphis Belle with the 91st BG
- Gen ROBERT BURNS - Pilot and later Group Commander of the 351st BG
- Col WILLIAM LAWLEY MOH - Pilot with the 305th BG and recipient of the Medal of Honor
- Col HARRY MUMFORD - Pilot with the 95th BG, he commanded the USAAFs first raid to Berlin on 4 March 1944
- Capt ALVIN BROWN - Pilot with the 95th BG, he flew the lead aircraft on that first mission to Berlin
CO-OPERATION

BRINGING THE PEACEMAKER HOME

Damaged by Fw190s during a raid to Leipzig, B-17 Fortress The Peacemaker of the 91st BG has slipped out of formation and is struggling to maintain height. Her crew are busy jettisoning everything possible to save weight, as the English coast comes into view. Thanks to their efforts and the close escort provided by P-51s of the 361st FG, The Peacemaker will make it back to Bassingbourne; eight others from the raid did not.
Originally released in 1997, this superb edition is personally signed by two crew members of The Peacemaker along with along with two iconic P-51 Mustang pilots who were heavily involved in escort duties:
