TANGMERE WING, 1941

The famous 'Tangmere Wing' fly high above the Sussex coast in their Spitfires, on their way across the channel to participate in aerial combat, led by their Group Captain Douglas Bader, 1941.

Robert is one of the few artists who personally knew Douglas Bader and who benefitted from the great fighter leader’s knowledge. The striking piece, which portrays Douglas Bader leading his Wing in ‘Finger Four’ formation across the Sussex coast towards France on a fighter sweep in early 1941, was composed with a great deal of technical and historical input from Douglas Bader and such is the scarcity that pristine examples rarely become available on the secondary market.

The print is signed for posterity by FOUR of the most famous Aces to fly with the RAF during WWII and by their audacious leader... find out more HERE!

CHENNAULT'S FLYING TIGERS

Two P-40 Tomahawks of the 2nd pursuit squadron, the 'Panda Bears', pull out of their diving attack just above the treetops of the Burmese jungle. One bomber hits the water, as two more P-40s bear down on another Nakajima bomber. In the distance the air is busy with low-level combat.

Originally published in 1991, Robert’s pacific piece was painted to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the highly successful first aerial combats of the Flying Tigers, SEVEN of which have signed the print... find out who the seven signatures are HERE!

VOYAGE INTO DESTINY

Under the watchful eye of Jagdeschwader 77’s Me 109 fighters, in company with the battlecruiser Prinz Eugen, and destroyers Hans Lody and Z23, Germany’s magnificent new battleship Bismarck is seen manoeuvring near Korsfjord Bergen on May 21, 1941.

Released in 2002, Robert’s Kriegsmarine tribute proves difficult to find on the Secondary Market, but we’re proud to announce that we have ONE copy available!

The print is accompanied by a companion print in tribute to the original, a graphite version of the scene depicted.

The print is signed by a highly respected Luftwaffe Ace who flew in the Norwegian and Polar Theatres, together with FIVE veteran survivors from the battleship Bismarck... find out more HERE!

DAWN SCRAMBLE

Wing Commander Bob Stanford-Tuck in his Spitfire Mk.Vb leads the Biggin Hill Wing on a fighter sweep over northern France, early 1942.

Biggin Hill was one of the most active RAF Fighter bases during WWII, at times as many as seven or eight sorties per day would scramble at the height of the Battle of Britain.

This rare piece, published in 1981, is personally autographed by one of the most iconic RAF fighter Aces of the war who is also depicted in Robert's memorable piece... find out more HERE!
