Commemorating VE Day
8 May 1945 – the Allies formally accept Germany’s unconditional surrender. The war in Europe was finally over.
Over the years we’ve been fortunate to meet many veterans who helped shaped the world we live in today, and we’re proud to call many of them our friends.
To commemorate the anniversary of VE Day here are just a few pieces paying tribute to the 'greatest generation'.
DAME VERA LYNN

One of the most celebrated performers of the 1940s, her hugely popular radio shows, recordings and films endeared her to the public, helping to reinforce Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s ‘never give up’ spirit.
