TOUCH DOWN

The Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF) at the Kennedy Space Center is one of the longest runways in the world, at an impressive 15,000 ft long and 300 ft wide, in order to accommodate the size of the payload.

SHUTTLE LIFT-OFF

Launching from the Kennedy Space Center, NASA’s space shuttle program completed a total of 131 missions between 1981 – 2011. Discovery was the first operational shuttle to be retired, followed by Endeavour and then Atlantis.

MOON BUGGY

The Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) is a battery-powered four-wheeled rover built by Boeing and was used on the Moon in the last three missions of the American Apollo program during 1971 and 1972.
