At dawn on 29 February 1940 a Wellington bomber from 99 Squadron, low on power after its port engine had failed over the North Sea, struggles to gain height in order to clear approaching cliffs. Thankfully Pilot Officer Reginald Williams AFM manages to carefully coax his damaged bomber back to safety.

Anthony's moving piece pays tribute to the mighty Wellington bomber and all who flew her.
