WINTER COMBAT
- The Masterwork Drawing -
Designed by Sydney Camm in the early 1930s, the Hurricane was the RAF’s first fighter capable of flying at over 300mph and proved to be one of the most rugged fighters in the history of combat aviation. Hurricanes fought with distinction in the Battle of France and, during the Battle of Britain, shot down more enemy aircraft than its famous counterpart, the Spitfire.
Hugely versatile, the Hurricane flew throughout the whole of WWII including northern Europe and the Mediterranean to North Africa and the Far East.
Completed in his trademark technique combining a mixture of graphite with colour highlights on antique buff paper, this superb tribute has been personally signed by two highly-regarded WWII Hurricane Pilots:
- W.O. ERIC CARTER
- Sqn Ldr OWEN PARRY DFC AE

WINTER COMBAT
- The Colour Print -
Richard’s superb painting hints at the bitter fighting that lies ahead. A few months ago they had been fighting for their lives during the Battle of Britain but for now the snow-clad tranquillity of an English winter brings a brief, but welcome, relief for the Mk.1 Hurricane pilots of 87 Squadron.
This atmospheric print has been personally autographed for posterity by three famous pilots who flew this wonderful aircraft in combat during WWII:
- Flt Lt Sir PAUL HOLDEN
- Flt Lt STAN NAWAARSKI DFC KM
- Flt Lt KURT TAUSSIG
Prices from £85
