ASSAULT ON OMAHA BEACH - - Commemorative Card
by The Commemorative Card Collection
Charging into a blizzard of murderous machine-gun and mortar fire, elements of the US 29th Division's 16th and 116th Infantry Regiments lead the assault on 'Fox Green' sector of Omaha Beach, 6 June 1944. The scene at the water's edge is one of chaos and carnage as the heavily laden troops begin the 200 yard dash across the bullet-swept sands of what would later be known as 'Bloody' Omaha.
