On 5 November 1942 Erich Hartmann scored his first victory over a Russian IL-2 despite losing his aircraft in the dogfight. Unhurt, the young pilot returned to base and a legend was born. Hartmann went on to achieve an incredible 352 air victories and remains the highest-scoring fighter Ace in history.
Released in 1999 as the third in Robert Taylor's ‘Hartmann Trilogy’, this superb sold out edition is among the most sought-after prints in Robert's portfolio.
This extremely rare and historic copy is personally signed by an astonishing FORTY NINE Luftwaffe Knight's Cross recipients, including such legendary Aces as Günther Rall, Walter Krupinski, Edmund Rossmann and of course the famous Ace depicted, Erich Hartmann.
