COUNTRY LIFE '43 - Framed Collectors Piece
by Gerald Coulson
It is a cold winter morning and as the sun rises over the misty countryside, the unmistakable sound of Merlin engines shatter the silence as a pair of Mosquitos return from a low-level precision bombing raid over occupied Europe, late 1943.
With a unique airframe constructed of wood, the Mosquito was light but exceptionally strong and had a reputation with its crews of being able to get them home even when heavily damaged. Few other aircraft were so highly regarded by the crew that flew them and enthusiasts alike, making the Mosquito one of the greatest aircraft of WWII.
This superb example has been framed to full conservation standards to include a matted original signature & photograph of Group Captain LEONARD CHESHIRE VC OM DSO** DFC*, museum quality reproduction RAF Wings and a miniature Victoria Cross.
Adding great authenticity, this Limited Edition print has been personally signed by three highly respected WWII Mosquito aircrew:
- Air Marshal Sir Ivor Broom KCB CBE DSO DFC AFC
- Squadron Leader TJ 'Tommy' Broom DFC
- Group Captain Richard Haine
