FIRST LIGHT
by Gerald Coulson
Mk Vb Spitfires of 92 Squadron climb out of Biggin Hill at the outset of an early morning patrol on a cold winter’s morning in February 1941. Leaving the mist behind as the first beams of light streak across the heavens, they will turn to the east and steel themselves to meet the enemy, high in the dawn sky.
This superb release was inspired by the story of Fighter Pilot, Geoffrey Wellum. Each print accompanies a special edition, matching numbered copy of his best-selling book, First Light – the extraordinary autobiography of his life as a young fighter pilot during WWII - beautifully presented in a unique gold embossed slipcase.
Each print is personally signed by TWO leading Fighter Pilots who flew in combat with 92 Squadron during World War II:
- Squadron Leader Geoffrey Wellum DFC
- Squadron Leader Neville Duke DSO OBE DFC **
