MERLINS OVER MALTA
by Gerald Coulson
Between June 140 and December 1942 Malta was one of the most heavily bombed countries on earth. The battle for the island became a decisive turning point of WWII.
This superb piece depicts Hurricanes of 126 Squadron diving to intercept a force of Luftwaffe bombers as they make their attack on the port at Valletta.
MERLINS OVER MALTA was specially commissioned to help raise funds for the Merlins Over Malta Appeal, which aims to bring a Spitfire and Hurricane back to the scene of their epic defence.
