OFFENSIVE STRIKE - Original Pencil Drawing
by Robert Taylor
OFFENSIVE STRIKE
By 1942 the battle-hardened Polish pilots who flew with RAF Fighter Command maintained the same determined and aggressive spirit that had defined their earlier campaigns. No. 316 Squadron, based at RAF Northolt, continued to press relentless offensive sweeps against the Luftwaffe, as skilfully depicted in Robert’s commemorative drawing.
Among its leading pilots was Stanisław Skalski, one of Poland’s most distinguished fighter Aces, whose leadership and combat skill epitomised the squadron’s fierce commitment to the Allied cause.
