SILVER SPITFIRE - Gouache on Board

Chris Draper depicts G-IRTY, the remarkable “Silver Spitfire”, shortly after it completed its round-the-world flight.

This original studio painting is a more detailed interpretation of that experience, with Draper choosing to work in monochrome to concentrate on the aircraft’s sculptural form and the complex reflections across its polished metal surface.

Painted in gouache on board, Silver Spitfire measures 22" x 19" framed, and offers a distinctive interpretation of one of the most recognisable Spitfires of recent years.
