THE AGILE DIVER - Gouache on Board

THE AGILE DIVER is Anthony Cowland's striking portrayal of the Pfalz D.III, one of the German Luftstreitkräfte's distinctive fighters of the First World War. Capturing the aircraft in flight, Cowland's painting combines his characteristic attention to aviation detail with a strong sense of movement and atmosphere, bringing the elegant lines of the Pfalz to life.

The original painting was awarded the Aces High ‘Aviation Painting of the Year’ Award at the Guild of Aviation Artists' 2024 Annual Exhibition, recognising it as the outstanding aerospace work in the exhibition.

Anthony Cowland FGAvA is a Fellow and former Chairman of the Guild of Aviation Artists, whose work has been recognised with numerous awards in the UK and USA.
