THEY FOUGHT WITH WHAT THEY HAD - Framed Collector’s Piece
by John D. Shaw
In late November 1941 at Clark Field, Philippine Islands, the U.S. Army Air Corps prepares for days of infamy ahead. Meagerly equipped crews of the 19th Bomb Group prepare their B-17s for the day's practice missions, unaware that in mere days, Clark Field and other nearby U.S. bases would be savaged by enemy surprise attacks.
In tribute to all those who took part in the bitter fighting during the early battles across the Philippines, this superb print has been personally hand signed by three prominent veterans involved:
- Staff Sergeant Robert Altman
- Lieutenant Colonel Melvin McKenzie
- Colonel Ed Jackfert
