AIRSTRIKE
by Robert Taylor
OVER WEST FALKLAND
Flying from HMS Invincible, 801 Naval Air C.O. ‘Sharkey’ Ward of the Fleet Air Arm engages in a ferocious dogfight during the Battle of Falkland Sound on 21 May 1982.
From a pilot’s eye view, Robert depicts the memorable last seconds of an Argentinian Mirage V (a French aircraft, known locally in Argentina as ‘Daggers’), as Ward closes in whilst flying his Sea Harrier.
