BEACH HEAD STRIKE FORCE - Framed Collector's Piece
by Robert Taylor
One of the most original and visually memorable paintings depicting a scene from World War II, this powerful portrayal of two F4U Corsairs is simply the work of a genius as a gaggle of F4U Corsairs begin a low-level straffing run during the Allied landings in the Marshall Islands in 1944. Below an AM6 Zero lies decaying on the beach, victim of an earlier aerial contest.
Personally signed by FOUR highly-regarded US Marine Corps F4U Aces upon release in 1991 - we have just ONE Limited Edition copy, beautifully framed, in stock!
These top-scoring pilots were probably some of the most revered fighter pilots from any air corps or air force from any theatre of World War II. They included two Medal of Honor recipients - Ken Walsh with 21 victories and James Swett with 15.5 victories – along with two other great exponents of the F4U - Harold Segal with 12 victories and Phil DeLong with 13 victories.
