OPS ON HOLD - Framed Double Remarque
by Richard Taylor
Heavy snow has settled over the frozen countryside around RAF Fiskerton in Lincolnshire, and for once the Lancasters of 49 Squadron stand quietly idle at their dispersal points, March 1944.
Making this copy completely unique, it has been returned to artist Richard Taylor to complete an original Double Remarque in the lower border that captures the graceful movement of these heavy bombers.
Framed to full conservation standards to include museum-quality reproduction RAF wings, this evocative print has been personally signed for posterity by three veterans who flew Lancasters with RAF Bomber Command during WWII:
- Air Commodore Charles Clarke OBE
- Flight Lieutenant Russell 'Rusty' Waughman DFC AFC Ld'H
- Flight Lieutenant Ken Thomas DFC
