This matching-pair of rare Limited Edition prints by Frank Wootton depicts two famous aviation legends!

In 'SPITFIRE MK. V' Douglas Bader leads 616 Squadron over France in his MK.V Spitfire.

Renowned for his indomitable spirit, Douglas Bader overcame the loss of both legs in a flying accident to become one of the RAF's most celebrated fighter aces. During World War II, he claimed 22 aerial victories, four shared, six probables, and 11 damaged. In August 1941, Bader was shot down over France and captured, spending the remainder of the war as a prisoner.

'HURRICANE MK. I' portrays RAF Wing Commander Bob Stanford-Tuck leading 257 Squadron into action during the Battle of Britain, 1940.

Regarded by many to have been one of the most naturally talented fighter pilots, Bob Stanford-Tuck demonstrated exceptional skill from the moment he started flying. Unfortunately On 28 January 1942, he was hit by anti-aircraft fire, was forced to land in France, and taken prisoner. However at the time of his capture, Tuck had claimed a staggering 29 enemy aircraft destroyed, two shared destroyed, six probably destroyed, six damaged and one shared damaged. Compiling an impressive record for the history books.
