VITAL FORCE
by Richard Taylor
With the unmistakable sound of Rolls-Royce Merlin engines filling the air, Hurricanes, the backbone of RAF Fighter Command, once again scramble into the warm summer sky.
Battle of Britain ace Flight Lieutenant Ian Gleed leads a detachment of Hurricane Mk1s from 87 Squadron as they climb out of their Exeter airfield during the peak of the battle in the high summer of 1940.
Richard's work keeps getting better and better and this painting featuring Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain really is excellent.
