THE RED BARON - Original Acrylic on Board

An original portrait by Tom Porta depicting Manfred von Richthofen, the legendary German fighter ace known as the “Red Baron”.

Presented in Porta’s distinctive contemporary style, the work combines a restrained likeness with an expressive, almost abstract treatment of the background giving the portrait a strong modern character while retaining its historical subject.

Richthofen became the most successful fighter pilot of the First World War, credited with 80 aerial victories, and remains one of the most recognisable figures in aviation history.
